The study describes and compares socioconstruction of knowledge in elementary and secondary classrooms in three distinct school learning contexts. Each interaction was analyzed in a three-dimensional way: linguistic, sociocognitive, socioemotional. Descriptive and comparative results pertain to the equality of participation level, sociocognitive types of interaction, and socioemotional climate. Findings are to the effect that socioconstruction is more present in a learning environment that is inclusive of asynchronous written interaction between members of geographically-distributed classrooms. To improve sodoconstruction during class time it is suggested that teachers foster the expression of learners' opinions, and help students to process disagreements.
